Dear First Grade Parents,

This year we will be participating in the Ronald McDonald Reading program.  I have attached a note sent from Mrs. Huscher explaining a little bit about the program itself.

The expectation I have for first graders is that they read 10-15 minutes a night, when possible.  I have attached a “calendar” of pictures for the month of September, as I will do for each month.  I ask that your child color in one of the symbols on the calendar for every night that he or she is able to read 10-15 minutes.  I understand that most of our first graders will be reading along with you at home, and that is PERFECT!

When your child brings back their monthly reading calendar, I will provide him or her with a McDonald’s coupon and we will celebrate their achievement as a class!
