Week of February 12 in Second Grade

The celebration of the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation on Saturday was beautiful!  The faces of the children were so joyful as they returned to their parents.  It was a wonderful reminder of how special this sacrament is.

This week in religion we will be reviewing Reconciliation.  We will also be talking about Ash Wednesday and the purpose of Lent.

Because February 14 is Ash Wednesday, we will be celebrating Valentine's Day a little early.  On Tuesday afternoon we will have a small party.  We will have treats, do a Mardi Gras craft, and exchange valentines.  As I said last week, students to not need to bring valentines.  However, if they are bringing valentines they must include the entire class.  We have 16 students in our class, 8 girls and 8 boys.

Remember that due to needed repairs on the boiler system, school will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday.  No hot lunch will be served.  Parent/teacher conferences on Thursday will be held in the Parish Hall from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Reminders of your appointments were sent home last Friday.  If you did not get a time scheduled and would like to have a conference, please contact Mrs. Rodriguez in the office.

Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 20, after the Presidents' Day holiday.
