On the weekend of the fourth Sunday of October (the dates for Fall Festival Celebration 2017 are October 21 & 22), St. Matthew's has a long standing tradition of hosting its annual Fall Festival Celebration. In fact, this year is the 60th Annual Fall Festival Celebration here at St. Matthew Parish. This two-day event includes activities, food and fun for people of all ages, and is not only one of our major fundraisers for the parish but also a great opportunity for building community and for getting involved in the life of the parish. If you would like to lend a hand, be sure to contact any of the chairs for the event.

ATTENTION...Because the weather forecast for race time on Saturday, October 21st is calling for rain and a chance for severe weather, the SUNSET GLOW RUN has been moved to Sunday evening, October 22nd. All other details (registration and race times, location, etc.) remain the same. If you have already signed up, we hope you will be still be able to join us. And for anyone who has been thinking about signing up but hasn't yet, it's not too late! And who knows, after eating a big turkey dinner at the Fall Festival Celebration, you may be ready for a run or walk.
As you might imagine, it takes the help of many volunteers to make the Fall Festival Celebration a success. Thanks to our parishioners who help with everything from setting up for the celebration, organizing all the various events and activities, cooking and baking, running the various booths, and clean up (and that's just to name a few), the Fall Festival Celebration has become a tradition not only for our parish but for the Topeka community as well.
It is not too late to sign up as a volunteer. The coming weekend (October 14/15) there will be a sign up table in the Gathering Space at church where you can sign up for a particular activity and select the shift you want to work. And once again this year, for your convenience, you can sign up online. Go to: http://stmatttopeka.ivolunteer.com/stmattfallfest_2017 and sign up to help out.
Helping at the Fall Festival Celebration is a great way to get acquainted with your fellow parishioners and to really feel a part of the life of the parish. For those who have already signed up or who have in the past, thank you for sharing your time with all of us and for helping to make the Fall Festival Celebration a 60 year old tradition. And for those who have never had to opportunity to help before, please consider offering your assistance with this year's celebration. It's a great feeling to know that you helped and were a part of something so special!
