St. Matthew Catholic School is proud to announce that we earned building-wide Standards of Excellence in reading, math and science AGAIN in 2012!

Individual grade level standards of excellence included:

Reading Standard of Excellence:  5th, 6th, 7th, 8th

Math Standard of Excellence:  3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th

Science Standard of Excellence:   4th (Only 4th and 7th grades are assessed each year in Science.)

This is a huge accomplishment as we continue to progress and improve our scores every year.   We continue to out-perform many other schools in our area and we have much to celebrate!  Our students are able to perform so well on these standardized tests due to the commitment and dedication of our staff, our parents, and the students themselves – congratulations to everyone on the rewards of their hard work!

At SMCS we embrace a call to excellence and nurture all God’s children academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually.  We invite you to come and visit with our staff, and observe our students …. see what SMCS is all about.  We think you’ll like what you see!

Celebrate your loved ones with books! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Debbie Otting

SMCS would like to invite you to celebrate your child or remember a loved one with a gift to the school library in the form of a new book in their honor or memory.  We currently have several books that have been donated in memory of loved ones and on the inside cover, those books are identified as a special gift in memory of someone and include the donor’s name.

The idea came to us to also celebrate birthdays this way as well.  If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday with a special book that can be shared by their friends in the library, we encourage you to select a book they would enjoy and send it to the school office for Mrs. Otting to prepare for circulation in the school library.  Please do not worry about duplicates because chances are if it is a new book we may not have it and if it is a classic, we likely could use a new copy!

On a separate sheet of paper, please write the name, dates, donor, etc. and include it with the book to assist us in accurately documenting the gift.  Feel free to write your own personal note inside the book cover if you would like.

Thank you for your consideration of this special book project.
